SoHum Health Invites Community to Celebrate Reaching Campaign Goal to Construct New Hospital at Milestone Event on May 19th

SoHum Health Foundation is thrilled to announce that their $4M fundraising goal to construct a new modern hospital in Southern Humboldt has been reached! Over the past three years, generous families, businesses, individuals, and Foundations have stepped up to donate and pledge to this life-saving campaign to raise a 10% down payment for a USDA building loan. The hospital to be constructed will replace the current Jerold Phelps Community Hospital, which is unable to meet new 2030 seismic requirements. In reaching this critical milestone, Southern Humboldt makes an essential leap forward in the effort to bring modern healthcare to our town.

The community is invited for a toast and update on what’s in store for our rural hospital on May 19th. Celebrate with live music by Garberville Town Band, hors d’oeuvres by Cafe Feast, and a speech by special guest Assemblymember Jim Wood, Chair of the State Healthcare Committee.
