What better way to show how much you love someone then by becoming a donor?
Thursday, February 14, 2019 is not only Valentines Day but National Donor Day. It is a day to raise awareness of the lifesaving benefits of becoming a donor.
According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, “Every 10 minutes another person is added to the donor waiting list.”
“36,000 units of red blood cells are needed everyday in the U.S.,” according to the American Red Cross. But there are many ways to donate.
By becoming a donor, organ, eye and tissue transplants are possible.
For more information or to find out where your local blood bank is check out the Northern California Community Blood Bank at www.nccbb.net.
