It’s Pi Day!

By ,

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point (www.piday.org). So, what does Pi have to do with Health? It’s like most things and all how you think about it: “To me, reciting pi’s digits has the same meaning as chanting the Buddhist mantra and meditating,” Haraguchi told The Guardian in 2015. “According to Zen Buddhism teachings, everything that exists in this world — the mountains, the rivers and all the living creatures — carries the spirit of the Buddha. I’ve interpreted this to mean that everything that circles around carries the spirit of the Buddha. I think pi is the ultimate example of that.”
